Nassau, Bahamas
This past week we were lucky enough to travel 1,317 miles away from the Fort and visit the beauty and culture of Nassau island. For me, nature has always been the most tangible evidence of God and he blew my mind with the beauty of the Bahamas.
Getting to the Bahamas was a breeze with a short layover in Miami. On the way home we were put on a huge international plane that had crazy comfy recliner chairs!!:)
.....a lil peace & love coming from Miami
Of course the beach was a stunner and so were the sunsets but our hotel was super adorable with its vibrant colors and super modern artwork.
Most days were spent at the beach......
........but two of the days we went into downtown Nassau and explored. The economy in the Bahamas thrives on tourists so it was no surprise as we passed dozens of Tshirt and souvenir shops. We explored the straw market filled with more tshirts and trinkets but named for the handmade goods the women of Nassau make out of straw. Riley and I picked up a clutch and little money pouch both decorated with flowers. We are excited to incorporate them into our wardrobe and forever remember the hard work and love of the women of Nassau.
The trip was a great break from our crazy summer schedule filled with work, sports workouts, and studying. I hope everyone's summer is going super well!
